Guide to Your CBT

CBT  (COMPULSARY BASIC TRAINING)

YOU WILL NEED TO COMPLETE COMPULSARY BASIC TRAINING IF;

At 16yrs old you want to ride a moped (with or without gears) thats no more than 50cc with a top speed not exceeding 50kph (28mph)

At 17yrs old you want to ride a motorcycle (with or without gears) thats no more than 125cc and not exceeding 11kw 15bhp.

WHATS IN THE COURSE?

The CBT consists of 5 Elements A.B.C.D.E.

ELEMENT A

Introduction

Eye sight check

Helmet and clothing talk.

ELEMENT B

Motorcycle controls

Daily and weekly checks

How to put the machine on and off its stand.

Pushing the motorcycle.

Starting and stopping the engine.

ELEMENT C

Pulling away and stopping.

Steering.( Figure 8)

Gear changing (if applicable)

Slow control.

Controlled and Emergency stops.

Simulated Left turns Right turns and U turns.

ELEMENT D

Approx 30 minute briefing on motorcycle awareness and Pre-Road ride briefing.

ELEMENT E

Consists of a road ride. This will be a minimum of 2 hours duration.

WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU.

Both parts of your UK Driving Licence (Plastic card and Paper counterpart)

If you have the old style licence you will need to bring with you a valid Pass Port for identification purposes.

Helmet Gloves and Waterproofs will be supplied if required.

Sensible clothing is a “MUST” like jeans boots or trainers  and a good strong jacket, if you have motorcycle clothing fantastic.

T Shirts shorts and flipflops ar not safe and certainly not approved by BikeTorque.
